Fueling Community Growth Since 1958
Founded in 1958 with just three employees and a modest downtown Oneida office, Citizens Gas Utility District has grown into a leading regional provider of natural gas and propane. Now headquartered in Helenwood, TN, with a 2,400 sq. ft. office and a 3,200 sq. ft. shop facility, Citizens Gas serves over 9,600 natural gas customers and 700 propane customers across Scott and Morgan Counties.
Their commitment to safety, accessibility, and innovation has led to a robust distribution network spanning 741 miles, including advanced compressor stations, regulator units, and purification systems. With ownership of the Indian Creek natural gas storage field and access to additional reserves, Citizens Gas ensures reliable service—even in Tennessee’s harshest winters.
Whether supplying residential homes, commercial operations, or industrial partners, Citizens Gas remains deeply rooted in its founding mission: to serve communities with dependable energy and hometown care.
