Community Center Membership:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Cumberland Plateau and Community Center, which opened in 2006, is open to youth between the ages of 5 and 18 (Older than 18 if still in traditional high school). To become a member, have a parent/guardian complete a membership application and payment agreement. The Boys & Girls Club offers a one-week application available to children in our community who are not currently members and would like to try the Boys & Girls Club out!
Programs
The purpose of Boys & Girls Clubs of Cumberland Plateau is to educate, socially, healthfully, and characterfully develop youth. We are concerned with all youths who need it, but we are primarily concerned with disadvantaged youth. This not only means the economically disadvantaged, but also socially, educationally, and physically disadvantaged. The Boys & Girls Club helps youth develop positive emotional behavior and attitudes and supervises youth through wholesome, constructive activities in educational, social, health, physical, and small group programs under professionally trained staff.
We currently provide program services targeting our three priority outcomes, including our popular youth basketball league, to close to 4,000 youth-in-need in our community.

Our Priority Outcomes Include:
Academic Success
Programs targeting this priority outcome enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply learning to everyday situations, and embrace technology to succeed in college or a career in the 21st Century.
Healthy Lifestyles
Programs in this area develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals, and live successfully as self-sufficient adults. They also develop fitness, positive use of leisure time, stress management skills, environmental appreciation, and social skills.
Good Character & Citizenship
Programs targeting this priority outcome empower youth to support and influence their Club and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self-image, participate in the democratic process and respect their own and others’ cultural identities.
