Services Offered: The Family Justice Center is a partnership of agencies dedicated to ending family and sexual violence through prevention and response by providing comprehensive, trauma informed client-centered services in a single location.
While the Scott County Family Justice Center may house many partners, the basic partners include police officers, prosecutors, civil legal service providers and community-based advocates. The core concept behind the Family Justice Center model is to provide one place where victims can go to talk to an advocate, plan for their safety, interview with a police officer, meet with a prosecutor, receive medical assistance, receive information on shelter, receive spiritual support and get help with transportation. It is a co-location of a team of professionals (The Children’s Center of the Cumberlands, District Attorney General’s Domestic Violence Prosecutor, Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee & the Cumberlands, Sexual Assault Services at SAI, Scott County Magistrate, Scott County Shelter Society, Scott County Sheriff’s Department’s Domestic Violence Officer) who work together as partners to provide coordinated services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse and human trafficking.
